The Plight of Children...

According to the United Nations Secretariat for Children and Armed Conflict, in addition to over a million children killed in armed conflict in recent years, 6 million have been rendered permanently disabled and up to a quarter of a million children are exploited as child soldiers. In the last few years in Africa alone, over 100,000 children have been used as soldiers.
Contemporary terrorism is another adult act of violence that increasingly adds to the suffering of so many children. Those who survive conflict and acts of terror can be physically maimed for life and/or emotionally haunted.
Our Foundation helps to renew the human spirit of such children.
Your support is crucial: We need your help to heal the hearts of child survivors of war and terrorist violence.

Renew the Spirit Foundation: Schools Fundraising

By helping us to heal the hearts of children who have suffered from armed conflict and terrorism, your school will receive a beautiful set of 15 A3-size laminated photos relating to themes of hope, healing, creativity and renewal.  They can be used as a teaching and learning aid in all areas of the curriculum from Primary through until Years 11 and 12. PLUS, your school will receive a visit from an RTSF speaker who will provide a 40 minute inspirational PowerPoint presentation and talk to student leaders and interested staff relating to the themes of how your students and school can help to make a practical difference in the lives of children who have suffered.  (Sorry, presentation only possible for Victoria at this stage).
All your school needs to do is hold a Student Council ‘Heal a Heart Day’ fundraiser such as a Uniform Free day or student BBQ and raise at least $500 for RTSF.

RTSF encourages young people to believe in being able to make a difference.  There is so much negative news out there that many young people, in spite of despite all the opportunities and material wealth, are confused, despondent and unsure how to put into context all that they see and hear in our information-overloaded society. They are not sure what actions they can take to change things or make a difference. Many feel powerless

For example, the following is just one set of news highlights that appeared on the MSN-Nine site one day. Millions of young Australian’s use hotmail and by default, when you log off, the page automatically goes to the MSN page. This is what viewers were confronted with:
